About - CANDEE

World has experienced the semiconductor revolution in the form of wonderful electronics devices in faster and cheaper communication, faster and quicker computers, entertainment devices, medical surgery, characterization and testing, sensors, photography, space exploration etc. to name a few. In recent years nanotechnology has emerged as one of the most important and exciting forefront fields in science, engineering, energy, biotechnology, chemical technology, materials etc. It shows great promise for providing us in the near future with many breakthroughs that will change the direction of technological advances in a wide range of applications.

Concept:

CANDEE- is aimed at bringing together the scientific and technology community, to share their experience on advancements in the materials synthesis and characterization techniques, its applications in different modern industries, specifically for renewable Energy and clean Environment. Eminent scientists in the respective fields will share their experience and knowledge with the young participants, which in turn are expected to promote research activities on the advanced materials. Owing to the advancements in software and hardware technologies, sophisticated tools have been developed to synthesize, characterize and model smart materials at the length scale with controlled behavior. This ability is transformational for the discovery process and as a result confers a significant competitive advantage. The most spectacular increase in the capability has been demonstrated in high performance computing. This rate of improvement has shown no signs of abating, which has enabled the development of computer simulations and models of unprecedented fidelity.
The overwhelming response of participants in the series of workshops and conferences organized by our group from 2009 to 2023, has motivated us to organize this conference on Nanomaterials and Technologies for Energy and Environment. The conference will be of great importance in the sense that it will be attended by young chemists, physicists, biologists and engineers making it truly interdisciplinary in nature so as to not only know about the new methods but also to share their research findings on preparation, analysis of materials and devices at nano scale and their possible application in the medicine, automotive, chemical, electronics, electrical engineering and other industries. It is also aimed to sensitize the young participants in the current areas of materials science so as to make them instrumental in pursuing quality research. Since 2008, the Advanced Materials and Nano-electronics Research Group of CNT Lab, in ABV-IIITM, actively contributing towards basic as well as application specific material and device modeling research. This conference is a celebration of completing the fifteen successful years of Advanced Materials Research group at ABV-IIITM, Gwalior.

Earlier Events

This conference is a third version of ICAN-2019, organised in Jan 2019 and was well appreciated by the scientific community and also an outcome of the last few successful scientific events (workshops/conferences) organized by us in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, 2017, 2019, 2023 where we have received number of request by the young participants to plan new version workshop specially on the various open source as well as license tools of ab-initio/first principle calculations available for the prediction of variety of materials as well as device properties. And this year, looking at the need of the hour, the theme of the conference has been decided to be on Nanomaterials for Pure Water, Green Energy and Clean Environment and related startups. The conference will be of great importance in the sense that it will be attended by young chemists, physicists, biologists and engineers making it truly interdisciplinary in nature so as to not only learn the current methods but also to share the research findings on preparation, analysis of structure and other properties in the macro to nano scale and their possible application in the medicine, automotive, chemical, electronics and electrical engineering. It is also aimed to sensitize the young participants in the current areas of materials science so as to make them instrumental in pursuing quality research.
The Computational Nanoscience and Technology Laboratory (CNTL) established in August 2008 with an aim to facilitate the young researchers with a well equipped material modeling lab and celebrating its 16 successful Years.
