CANDEE
The world has experienced a semiconductor revolution—ushering in faster communication, smarter computing, advanced sensors, precise medical tools, and stunning innovation in photography and space exploration. At the heart of this revolution lies nanotechnology, an interdisciplinary powerhouse in science, engineering, materials, energy, and health care. With enormous promise, it is reshaping the technological future.
Concept
CANDEE aims to unite the scientific and technological communities to share research and insights on advanced material synthesis, characterization techniques, and their applications in industries—particularly for Renewable Energy and Clean Environment. With eminent speakers and dynamic participants, it fosters collaboration and sparks innovation.
Powerful computational tools and simulation platforms have revolutionized how we synthesize and model smart materials at the atomic scale. The rise of High-Performance Computing (HPC) has made simulations more accurate and accessible than ever.
Building on the enthusiastic participation from our prior events (2009–2024), this edition of CANDEE continues to serve as a vibrant stage for interdisciplinary interactions among chemists, physicists, biologists, and engineers. Together, they explore materials and device innovations with relevance to medicine, electronics, automotive, and environmental industries.
Since its inception in 2008, the Advanced Materials Research Group of Department of Engineering Sciences at ABV-IIITM Gwalior has contributed significantly to materials research. This year marks 17 glorious years of impactful work in the field.
Earlier Events
The current edition builds upon the success of ICAN-2019, held in January 2019, and earlier editions from 2009 to 2024. Each of these events inspired growing interest among young researchers in simulation tools for ab-initio and first-principle materials prediction.
This year’s theme—"Nanomaterials for Pure Water, Green Energy and Clean Environment and related startups"—is aligned with pressing global priorities and opens exciting pathways for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The Computational Nanoscience and Technology Laboratory (CNTL), founded in 2008, proudly completes 17 years of advancing material modeling and empowering the next generation of researchers.
